Storm & Sanitary Sewer

The Storm and Sanitary Sewer Commissioner oversees Bannockburn’s sewer system, making sure it is in good repair. Another important priority is upgrading and expanding the system as necessary to meet the needs of Village residents and businesses. Most homes are already included on the Village sewer system, although some still rely on private septic systems.

The Commissioner also oversees new sewer construction projects so that eventually all homes will operate on the Bannockburn sewer system. In addition, the Commissioner is responsible for updating and upgrading pumping stations as necessary. While these projects are underway, the Commissioner communicates with residents to let them know where and why construction is occurring and what the costs will be to individual homeowners who choose to convert their systems from septic to Village sewer operation.
